A George lll Scottish silver chafing dish and cover, of circular form, ebony turned handle, knopped handle to cover, crested lid and interior. 23cm diam. Ker & Dempster, Edinburgh 1753.
Believed to be a celebratory memento for the 10th Earl of Rothes on his investiture as a Knight of The Order of the Thistle 29 March 1753.
